The Peer Mixer Series
Meet, connect and share lived experiences with other musicians
Working as a musician can often be isolating and it can hard to know how to access networks or find your community. If you’re looking for an opportunity to meet and connect with other musicians, one of our peer mixer events could be for you.
Each event offers a safe space for discussion, knowledge sharing and networking that can lead to collaboration and community building beyond the event space.
Pilot in collaboration with Sounds Queer
If you’re a musician from the LGBTQIA+ community this could be for you.
We’re working in collaboration with Sounds Queer to bring you two peer mixers where you can:
- Listen to a specially curated panel of industry leaders including artist managers, booking agents and representatives from some of the most well-known queer talent, media and event organisations
- Network with other musicians
- Hear some fantastic live music and DJs
What to expect
You’ll be one of 30 musicians attending two in-person peer mixer events in London on two different dates. Each event will cover a different topic.
Day 1: How to build a team as a queer independent artist
Saturday 7 December, 12 – 3pm, Strongroom
Day 2: Progress, challenges and ambitions of queer music artists in 2025
Wednesday 21 January, 5 – 8pm, Strongroom
You can find out more about each event on the pages below.

Partners
Straddling the void between Live Music and Queer Nightlife, Sounds Queer was founded in early 2022 to champion diverse voices and sounds from the LGBTQIA+ community, whilst providing a safe space for audiences within it.
Despite London being a cultural hub for both music and the queer community, there are little to no live music organisations whose priority is to provide a platform for queer live artists. In addition to this, there is a lack of truly inclusive events, gigs or venues for emerging music that cater to the specific needs of the community.
Sounds Queer works with organisations and businesses to support and champion queer artists and their stories, through live events, programming, takeovers and panel discussions.
In turn, our work as a new creative business has been supported by the likes of Rich Mix, The Roundhouse and Mighty Hoopla.
